What makes a human different from a monster?

We treat monsters differently from ourselves. If we cheer when white knights or angry mobs slay the beast, there must be a clear line distinguishing us from them. The violence we overlook, the justifications we accept, and the comforts we prioritize must simply be a part of human privilege.

My work opens discussion about this gray space between us and them, inviting us all to examine our place within it. There are many different kinds of monsters here — what kind are you?
